CORPORATES

Your payment operations have grown more complex than your team was built to manage.

As your business grows across markets, banking relationships and FX, costs and compliance obligations quickly become harder to manage. Most finance and treasury teams find themselves dealing with a level of payment complexity they were never built for.

We help your business get back in control through real-world payment expertise, pragmatic execution and independent advice delivered through a leaner, more commercial model.

THE CHALLENGE

What happens when your payment operations evolve without a plan?

As businesses expand, banking relationships, providers and payment arrangements multiply. Costs become harder to track, visibility reduces and decisions become more difficult to make with confidence. Yet many corporates don’t have dedicated payment expertise in-house, leaving responsibility spread across finance, treasury, procurement and operations.

Flotta fills that gap. We work as an extension of your team, bringing senior payment expertise when and where you need it, without the cost or complexity of building a dedicated function. We help you identify the problem, quantify the impact and take practical action.

How Flotta helps.

An independent audit of your payment operations.

We independently review your banking relationships, FX cost structures, acquiring arrangements and payment infrastructure. You’ll receive a clear view of what’s working, what isn’t and a prioritised action plan to improve performance.

Banking and FX cost optimisation.

Banking and FX costs can quietly erode margin over time. We benchmark your current arrangements, identify opportunities for improvement and support commercial negotiations to secure more competitive terms.

Multi-currency and cross-border payment strategy.

Expanding across markets brings new payment challenges. We help you build the infrastructure, provider relationships and operating model needed to manage multi-currency and cross-border payment operations effectively.

Compliance and regulatory oversight.

Payment regulation continues to evolve across every market. We help you stay ahead of changing requirements across schemes, open banking, data localisation and PCI DSS without needing to build specialist expertise internally.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We typically work with corporates that:

Operate across multiple markets or currencies with fragmented payment arrangements.

Have banking and FX relationships that have grown through necessity rather than design.

Face compliance obligations across payment types or geographies that internal teams struggle to keep up with.

Are growing faster than payment infrastructure is evolving and know it is creating risk.

Are looking for niche expertise offering leaner commercial models.

Project highlights.

Our team have led payment and commercial strategy for some of the world’s most complex multi-market organisations. Andrew alone has directed payment and loyalty programmes for Chevron, Texaco and Caltex across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and the United States, and led Visa Europe and Visa Inc’s commercial issuing, acceptance and merchant acquiring teams.

Partnering with a global airline card-payments brand, we led a complex international project to review and refine pricing strategy across 27 markets and 30 airline issuers.

Our role involved gathering, validating and analysing sensitive commercial data from across the payments ecosystem. We worked closely with card schemes, issuing banks and acquiring partners worldwide to confidentially source robust market intelligence and benchmarking insight.

Using this data, we developed a comprehensive analytical framework and delivered clear, actionable pricing recommendations tailored to each market. The output enabled our client to better understand regional dynamics, issuer economics and competitive positioning, supporting more informed decision-making and long-term commercial optimisation.

This engagement required strong coordination across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions, careful handling of confidential information, and a disciplined, insight-led approach to strategy development at global scale.

Working with a global fintech engineering organisation, we were engaged on a strategic consulting assignment to establish and scale its UK presence as a platform for wider European growth.

The engagement began with the end-to-end set-up of the UK office, including market entry strategy, operating model definition and positioning the organisation within the UK fintech ecosystem. We advised on regulatory and commercial considerations, local market dynamics and the most effective routes to credibility and visibility in a highly competitive landscape.

A core part of the mandate was to build and formalise strategic partnerships across the UK and Europe. We led engagement with leading fintech associations, innovation hubs and industry bodies, developing long-term relationships that enabled access to networks, thought leadership opportunities and collaborative programmes with banks, fintechs and technology partners.

In parallel, we took ownership of new business development, identifying priority target segments, shaping the firm’s value proposition for the European market and leading senior-level conversations with prospective clients and partners. This included originating opportunities, managing early-stage commercial discussions and supporting pipeline development.

The outcome was a fully established UK operation, a strong ecosystem presence across key European fintech communities, and a structured, scalable approach to business development designed to support sustained growth and market penetration.

Let’s start with a conversation.

Tell us what’s happening in your payment operations, where the challenges sit and what you’re trying to achieve. We’ll listen, ask the right questions and help you determine whether a deeper review makes sense. We start with diagnosis, not prescription.
